A little bit about what makes us tick
We are one of the UK's leading digital agencies providing integrated solutions to some of the world's leading brands.
Grand Union provide connected digital solutions. In an increasingly fragmented digital landscape we seek to bring disparate digital activity together. We provide a full service digital offering from media planning & buying to advertising and from social media through to ecommerce. We believe that in providing these full-range of services and uniting them, they add up to a greater sum of the parts.
From an online advertising perspective this means that we work hard to deliver a joined-up customer journey, optimising each stage from browsing through to purchase and monitoring the activity so that we can adapt and improve. Results are a critical part of the process and learning from them helps make everything work harder during a campaign and also over time.
We were founded in 2000 by Matt Nicholls and Rob Forshaw. Both disillusioned with the prospects of "advertising" they left their prospective agencies and jumped head first into digital.
We have grown significantly over the years, moving from Matt's bedroom to Moray House via offices in Notting Hill, Westbourne Park and Covent Garden. This has also meant a change of local pub along the way too (though we try to visit the old ones when we can).
We're still as hungry as we were when it was two men and a business plan, and the nature of the agency has evolved since inception. There are still some of the old timers around of course, but we've seen user experience, design, creative and project management grow considerably in recent years. Nostalgia can always get the better of some people so we'll leave it with two words we'd use to describe our history: "proud" and "eventful".
We imagine our future will be too.
Looking towards the future Grand Union is delighted to have joined the FullSIX Group in April 2010. Founded in Paris in 1997 FullSIX is one of Europe's leading digital marketing groups. It has over 800 employees across 17 offices and an income of over 70mE. Its clients include: Coca-Cola, Renault, Eurostar, SFR, Vodafone, Club Med, Danone, Procter & Gamble. The FullSIX Group is headed by the CEO, Marco Tinelli and is owned by its management team and the investment fund Cognetas.
The plan throughout 2011 is to open offices in France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and New York. The aim is for the combined Group to become the leading independent digital agency group in Europe. Core to this success is the requirement to keep innovating with the introduction of new services including media, mobile development including the ipad and further investment in social media.
